Ten hours of non-stop smooth jazz entertained crowds at the 16th annual Stompin’ on the Quomps at Christchurch Quay.
Despite a midday shower, the sun shone for most of the day and people of all ages enjoyed music from five bands including songs from Jools Holland singer, Louise Clare Marshall.
With a selection of food and other stalls, plus a bar supplied by the Olde George Inn, organiser Adrian Dwyer was thrilled with the success of this year’s event. He said, “There was a real buzz this year and it was great to see the crowd stretching from the bandstand halfway up the Quomps. People got up to dance and everyone looked to be having a great time. We were also pleased that people were generous in their donations and this, along with very supportive local businesses, means we can look forward to 6 August 2011 and putting on the 17th Stompin’ event.”
