The recent blizzard of snow forced many schools in the region to close and West Moors Middle was no exception, closing for two days last week. On reopening, Year 7 pupil, Edward Hicks, was inspired to do something out of the ordinary.
Most of the children avoided the slippery pavements by getting a lift in the car or using the school bus – but not Edward, he got to school on a pair of skis!
Edward, who usually cycles to school, said "I wanted to ski to school as it seemed like a fun and new thing to do, and I wasn't sure I'd ever get the chance to try it again."
