Bournemouth’s biggest fireworks party, which featured a special Remember Remember display set to songs from World War One and beyond, attracted more than 6,000 people with three top quality displays at the Littledown Centre where the Band of the Royal British Legion Christchurch entertained crowds as Poppy Appeal collectors received scores of generous donations.
“We had a spectacular response from the crowds at Bournemouth Fireworks,” says Terina Nunn, Royal British Legion Christchurch branch treasurer. “It was a great way for the Band and the British Legion to connect with people, particularly younger people, during the Poppy Appeal and the way the public responds is always amazing.”
“Thousands of people came along and had a great time – it was a terrific night, one of the best in the 15 years we have been running Bournemouth Fireworks,” says event director Michael Callaghan.
“We’ll be back next year and are already hatching some exciting new plans – it’ll be bigger than ever!”
Bournemouth Fireworks also supports Bournemouth Hospital’s Jigsaw Appeal.
