Take the plunge for RNLI

Swimmers are being challenged to take part in an open water event to raise money for the RNLI. The event, which is taking place in Bournemouth on August 14, is part of the Long Swim Series, for which the RNLI are charity partners.

The series is made up of five swimming challenges across the south of England throughout the summer, the first of which took place in South Cerney on June 12. Those taking part in the Bournemouth event can choose a 3.8k, 1.6k or 750m course. Everyone who takes the plunge will receive full fundraising support and those who raise more than £50 for the charity will also get their hands on a free T-shirt.

The Bournemouth swim will take place at Southbourne beach from 9am.
