Teddy skates to £1000
A wonderful teddy bear attracted feverish bidding at Crewkerne last week.
Made by the Chilton factory in England, it is known as the 'Winter Skater.’
Unusually large at 27 inches high, it was probably produced for a shop display in the 1920s. On auction day, is was two private collectors who were most determined, with one eventually successful at £1000.
