The ‘big bang’ returns to Wimborne

Following the recent controversy over the stay of musket fire at Wimborne’s Christmas light switch-on last month, it has been confirmed that the sound of the militia muskets will return.

Margery Ryan, organiser of the ‘Save the Children’ parade, has asked the Wimborne Miltia to take part in the charity’s twentieth annual procession on Saturday, 13 December. Following this the militia will parade on the Minster Green and fire a volley at 4.15pm.

The town crier, Chris Brown, who also represents the militia, is delighted with the news.
