The heat is on

Come gather your pancakes and pans at the ready
And race round the Minster but keep nice and steady
Flip at each corner, don’t dare drop your dinner
Then run to the finish - you might be the winner

Wimborne’s pancake race takes place on Shrove Tuesday, 24 February.

Simply report to the North Porch of the Minster (the  big church in the middle of Wimborne) by 10.30am to enrol. You must have a frying pan and ready cooked pancake.

It’s flipping good fun and if you win through the heats you will take the coveted title of Minster Pancake Champion 2009. 

So whether you are young, old, in a team or whatever, get along to Wimborne for the race of a lifetime.

All competitors have to do is run round the Minster, tossing their pancake at the four corners of the church.
