The Ringwood running chef

With the London marathon looming, keen and sweaty competitors are hard at work training for the event and no one is training as hard as Ringwood’s running chef.

Andrew Olden (39 years) a chef at the Frampton’s Mill restaurant in Ringwood is out every morning and evening running at least forty miles a week to get fit enough for the big day on April 25.

Andrew is hoping to raise £2,500 for his charity, Children with Leukemia,

He is also keen to get under his previous time for the London marathon, which was 3.5 hours.

Andrew said,“I am hoping to run it in three and a half hours. I am training on a circuit near my home in Verwood and also run with the Wimborne running club. My keenest fan apart from Mum and Dad is my 7-year-old son Lewis, who is hoping to see his Dad on television, I am doing various events to raise the funds for the charity….”

Andrew has been a chef at Frampton’s Mill for 12 years. He creates some simple but also quite exotic dishes, plus a variety of tapas. However his own favourites are the typical carbo loading dishes of the distance runner.

He said: “…I like to eat potatoes stuffed with roasted vegetables, lots of brown rice, and tasty stir fries…”

To sponsor Andrew call into Frampton’s Mill in the Furlong to sign the sponsor form.
