Top award for plumbing engineer

Engineer Josh Smith is the toast of his colleagues after picking up a top award.

The former Ringwood School pupil received the Institute of Plumbing Excellence Award at Bournemouth & Poole College’s Faculty of Technology awards night.

Josh, 20, works for Christchurch-based AquaCare and has just passed his City & Guilds level three NVQ in plumbing, heating and ventilation.

“The award was a total surprise and I’m really pleased. It’s great to have my efforts recognised,” said Josh who joined AquaCare as an apprentice four years ago.

More than sixty students were nominated and received awards and prizes at this year’s ceremony held at the RNLI Training College in Poole.

Founded in 1997, AquaCare is a sister company of Bournemouth & West Hampshire Water.  It operates across Dorset and West Hampshire using its own team of qualified plumbers, Gas Safe Register heating engineers and Legionella technicians.
