Traditional dining in a contemporary backdrop

The Mayor of Verwood, local and county councillors joined 175 invited guests at the official opening of the new restaurant at John Brown’s Garden Centre on 5 March.

Now owned by the Golden Acres group, the centre at Three Legged Cross has undergone transformation, including a vast covered area.

Simon Edwards, group operations director of Golden Acres said, “The new restaurant forms part of the overall improvements.  It used to seat seventy diners and now accommodates 240.  The hot food is traditional and includes favourites like liver and bacon and roast dinners.   Visitors can also buy snacks and fresh bean to cup coffee.”

Open daily, the restaurant looks out over a sea of plants and other horticultural items.

Lucy Clarke, the Mayor of Verwood said, “The garden centre is a first rate facility with a marvellous restaurant.  The people in Verwood and Three Legged Cross are delighted that Golden Acres have made such an investment.”

Serving food daily, the new restaurant cost £350,000.
