Verwood battle at Trafalgar

Not quite the “Battle of Trafalgar” but the Wessex Contest for brass training bands held at Trafalgar School, Downton last weekend.

Verwood Concert Brass Training Band came fifth with their spirited playing and interpretation of a variety of pieces. Conducted by Ian Harris, it was the first time the band had entered any contest and with several members as young as nine years old, they were justifiably proud of their performance.

Members of the band can be seen out and about playing and raising money over the Christmas period for this years adopted charity which is SPRING, Supporting Parents in Neonatal Grief.
