West Moors play area officially opened

West Moors Parish Council has declared the refurbished Oakhurst play area in Shaftesbury Road, West Moors, officially open.
A £40,000 facelift, funded fully by West Moors Parish Council, has seen the installation of new, state-of-the-art play equipment, some of which is fully inclusive, and has been designed to appeal to children under 12 years of age.

St Giles House wins restoration award

St Giles House in Dorset, the ancestral seat of the Earls of Shaftesbury, has been announced as the winner of the 2015 Historic Houses Association (HHA) & Sotheby’s Restoration Award. The house, which has remained in the family since the 14th century, had been abandoned and left derelict for over 50 years.
