No wonder Ferndown looked so colourful this year – Ferndown in Bloom, sponsored by Haskins Garden Centres, generated a lot of interest and the results are just in.
The formal presentation evening took place at Haskins Restaurant last night (23 September) with Ferndown Mayor, Cllr Julie Robinson, presenting the prizes.
Ferndown in Bloom’s Tallest Sunflower competition sponsored jointly by Haskins Garden Centre at Longham and mags4dorset produced some incredible entries. Some were spindly, some were flower-heavy and some were like Jack’s beanstalk and disappeared into the sky. The winning entry measured a massive 13’ 8” and was nurtured by Val Briggs and her husband Doug.…
Thieves have stolen a 16-foot boat from its mooring. It was taken between Sunday 30 August and Sunday 20 September from a mooring in Poole Harbour near to Lake Road, Hamworthy. The Isla Skiff is green above the water line and pink below, with a cream interior and pine seats. The sails were not onboard.…
