Electrical charger warning

Dorset County Council’s trading standards service is warning residents about the safe use of electrical chargers following a dangerous incident at a house in Weymouth.
A consumer had bought the charger for his mobile phone last summer at Bowleaze market. Last week he put his phone on charge and after one minute smoke came out of the charger, and then flames as it exploded, firing the back of the plug across the room and leaving scorch marks on the wall socket.

Trains steam ahead at auction

Two popular collections of model trains attracted huge interest at Lawrences Auctioneers of Crewkerne last week.
Both collections were compiled by a gentleman in the Taunton area. The first collection included a large number of Wrenn, Hornby and Bachmann locomotives, all boxed and in good condition. With interest from private buyers and dealers, estimates were left far behind as the collection raised over £12,000 in auction.
