Ferndown Mayor Cllr Terry Cordery recently presented a cheque from Ferndown Town Council for £450 to Heatherlands Mums & Tots group leader Mary Melbourne. Heatherlands Manager John Hanrahan said, “It’s this type of support from our local town council that will make a great difference to a group of local mums and their children. Wimborne and Ferndown Lions, along with other Lions clubs, have been collecting unwanted specs for recycling and distribution in Third World countries, where eye care is often unavailable and lens making facilities are non-esxistent.
