The Best of British Party organised by Joe and Mel Barnett and Lucy and Gary Wooding raised £2297 for the John Thornton Young Achievers Foundation.

It followed on from last year’s success and was held at Parkstone Yacht Club. Almost every aspect of Britishness was represented and fabulous costumes got the party off to a great start.

Joe is a great friend of the JTYAF and has raised over £3500 this year alone. He not only organised the Best of British Party but also ran a Marathon for the JTYAF and took part in the Ferndown Pram Race.

“We can’t thank Joe and his team enough,” said Peter Thornton a trustee of JTYAF. “Thanks must also go to Karen Wallbridge who organised a generous donation from Barclays through their Matched Fundraising and Giving programme.  This made a massive difference to the final total raised and we are extremely grateful to both Barclays and Karen for their support.”

The funds raised will be used directly to support local young people to help them to develop as individuals and fulfil their ambitions.
