There is no excuse for having a dull autumn when carefully selected plants can bring bright colours and even fragrant scents to your garden. Andrew Summerhayes, one of the plants team at Stewarts Garden Centres, has listed four favourites that can be considered. “Gardeners’ top choices for autumn colour are pansies and chrysanthemums, cyclamens and capsicum – the ones that look like chilli peppers. All do well in borders or within pots and containers and just require a bit of deadheading so to encourage new colour,” said Andrew.
