Police investigating a burglary on a Winfrith farm are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information to come forward.

Between 8pm on Thursday 21 January and 5am on Friday 22 January, offenders gained access to a steel butcher unit on Fossil Farm off the A352.

A large amount of meat including beef, lamb and gammon joints and a quantity of specialist knives were stolen.

Police Constable Ian Everton, of Purbeck police, said: “I am appealing to anyone who saw any suspicious individuals or vehicles in the area of the A352 between the relevant times to please call me. I am also keen to hear from anyone who has seen or heard of beef, lamb or gammon joints being sold in suspicious circumstances.”

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101 quoting incident number 22:33. Alternatively, call the free and anonymous Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111 where mobile phone tariffs may apply.
