There is another way…
Many people, and in particular seniors who are struggling with a long-term illness or who are less mobile, feel the only options open to them are a nursing or residential home. But these need not be the only solutions.
Promedica24 is a Europe-wide organisation that has been in existence for more than 12 years. In this area, Promedica24 covers both Dorset and Hampshire and specialises in providing Live-in Care up to 24 hours a day, in your own home.
There’s as little, or as much, help available as you might want. It might be personal care – such as help with bathing, washing hair, and getting dressed; to domestic duties like cleaning, vacuuming, changing bed-linen, laundry and washing up. You might also require support in preparing and cooking meals, shopping, helping with medication, and assisting with bathroom visits. These are regular requests that Promedica24 carers help with everyday.
Promedica24 tries to ensure that you have regular help from the same highly-trained carer. If a client needs lots of assistance, this might mean a six-week live-in carer, with support from another.
The beauty of the service is that you can stay in your home where you are comfortable. It means you don’t have to rely totally on medical staff and family or friends. If you live alone it’s a godsend; the service also enables and helps couples stay together when one partner is frail or unwell and the other unable to cope as a sole-carer.
Many people consider this level of care to be expensive, but when compared with other alternatives, it can be a much more viable option with the added benefit of being in your own home, with your own things and a life time of memories around you.
Regional partner Mark Muller runs Promedica24 for the Dorset and Hampshire area. He previously worked for over eight years for a residential care organisation. He said, “Having previously worked for a large luxury care provider, I only ever met one person who truly wanted to move in. ‘It isn’t my home’ was perhaps the most common phrase used.”
He added, “We believe in the provision of home care through kindness, experience and friendship from the comfort of home. In a recent study, 70% of seniors said they would rather be cared for at home than go into care. And, good quality home care enables people to safely live the life that they want and on their terms.”
Promedica24 has just reached a top-20 ranking in the south-west region for homecare providers at homecare.co.uk. The company has earned an incredible 9.8/10 review score from satisfied clients. Here is their latest endorsement posted in April 2018:
“Following our Mum’s ageing and subsequent mobility problems… she is now living very happily in her own home, with the excellent 24/7 care facilities provided by Promedica24 live-in trained staff, on hand for immediate care and assistance. As a family, of course, our main priority is knowing that our Mum is happy and content, and we have the added benefit of knowing that she is being very well looked after and cared for – we are all more relaxed as a result. We have no hesitation in recommending Promedica24.”
Both short-term and long-term care can be arranged, also respite care. A wide range of disabilities, frailties and medical conditions can be accommodated. These include memory impairment, cancer, dementia, Parkinson’s, stroke and more, giving clients a level of independence they didn’t think they could have. It also provides companionship and offers peace of mind that someone is on hand to help.
